Shanghai Metal Corporation is a leading Mobile Solar Container manufacturer.

The Mobile Solar Container is a factory-assembled solar power station built inside an ISO shipping container, combining monocrystalline photovoltaic modules, a string inverter and a pre-wired output panel in one transportable unit. It can be generating power within hours of arrival, with no civil works, foundations or permanent grid connection required. The range covers 20 kW to 200 kW across 8ft, 10ft, 20ft and 40ft container bodies, so one product family serves a single telecom tower as well as a full mining camp load. For operators currently running diesel generators in remote or unstable-grid locations, the container reduces fuel and maintenance spending, removes exhaust emissions and noise, and keeps critical loads supplied through outages. The IP55 enclosure and C4 anti-corrosion coating are specified for coastal, desert and tropical conditions, and every unit is wired, tested and documented before shipment.

Standard Packaging

Each unit leaves the factory as a closed ISO container with the photovoltaic array folded down and locked inside the transport envelope. Module faces are covered with protective film, and the inverter and distribution panel are braced with shock-absorbing pads inside the equipment room. Door seals are taped and the container is sealed before departure. All four corner castings are left clear for standard twist-lock handling, so units can be lifted straight from the truck onto a vessel or flat rack without extra crating.

Shipping

We support sea freight, flat-rack and break-bulk shipment, depending on order quantity and destination. Available trade terms include EXW, FOB and CIF; other terms may be available upon request. Shipping costs are calculated based on cargo volume, gross weight, destination and selected transportation method.

Lead Time

Standard orders: 30-45 days for standard 8ft to 40ft configurations

Customized orders: 45-60 days for custom capacity, voltage or hybrid diesel-solar versions

packing

Q: What information do you need to quote a Mobile Solar Container?

A: Send the required output in kW, the daily energy demand in kWh, the site location and its grid condition (off-grid, weak grid or backup), any container size limit, and the destination port. We reply with a configuration and price within 24 hours.

Q: How long does sample preparation take?

A: A technical proposal and container layout drawing are ready in 3-7 working days. A physical sample unit is not normally shipped; we arrange a live factory video inspection instead.

Q: What is the MOQ and production lead time?

A: MOQ is one unit. Standard configurations ship in 15-25 working days; customized capacity, voltage or hybrid versions need 25-40 working days.

Q: How long does customization take?

A: Customized units take 25-40 working days including drawing approval, covering capacity, output voltage and frequency, container size and hybrid diesel-solar integration.

Q: Can the container run with no grid connection at all?

A: Yes. It operates as a stand-alone solar power source with an optional battery bank and diesel back-up. Give us your night-time load in kWh so the storage bank is sized correctly rather than oversized.

Q: How do I choose between 20ft and 40ft units?

A: Match container size to load and site access. 8ft and 10ft units cover 20-40 kW single loads and tight sites; 20ft units cover 80-100 kW; 40ft units reach 160-200 kW and can be paralleled when one container is not enough.

Q: What standards does the product meet?

A: The container follows ISO standard dimensions and is built to IP55 with a C4 anti-corrosion coating. ISO and CE documentation, factory test records and the packing list are issued with each shipment.
