Product Detail

Shanghai Metal Corporation is a leading Standard Modular Activity Room manufacturer and supplier.

The Expandable Container House is a prefabricated modular building built on a hot-dip galvanized steel frame. Its side wings fold inward for compact transport and unfold on-site within hours to provide up to three times the original floor area. The wall panels use rock-wool or PU sandwich panels for thermal insulation and fire resistance. The house comes pre-wired with electrical systems, pre-plumbed with water and drainage, and can be equipped with air conditioning, kitchen modules, and bathroom fixtures at the factory. It is designed for rapid deployment in remote or temporary settings where conventional construction is impractical or too slow.

1. Main steel frame: Hot-dip galvanized steel, anti-rust outdoors. Folding hinges let side walls fold inward for compact shipment.

2. Wall & roof sandwich panel: Rock wool color steel panel, heat-insulating and fireproof. Thicker panels for cold areas; standard panels for mild-climate temporary camps.

3. Floor system: High-density cement-fiber board. Load-bearing and water spill resistant, for offices and dorms.

4. Door and window assembly: Aluminum frame + tempered glass, lighting & ventilation, anti-corrosion. Fitted on expandable side walls.

5. Hinge & locking fittings: Coated carbon steel hinges and latches. For folding transport and wall fixing. Standard hinges for normal units; reinforced type for frequent folding cycles.

2. Rapid on-site deployment Pre-finished in factory. On-site installation: 2–4 hours, faster than conventional build.

3. Reusable and relocatable The frame withstands repeated disassembly, transport and reinstallation with minimal performance loss, ideal for temporary or mobile projects.

5. Thermal insulation and fire resistance Rock wool/PU panels save HVAC energy and meet B1 fire standard.

Each house is wrapped with protective PE film.Folded house units are fixed with steel straps and wrapped with stretch film for international shipment.

Shipping

We support FCL and LCL sea freight, air freight and express delivery depending on order quantity and destination. Available trade terms include EXW / FOB / CIF. Other terms may be available upon request. Shipping costs are calculated based on cargo volume, gross weight, destination and selected transportation method.

A2: Our expandable container houses are manufactured under ISO 9001 quality management system. The steel structure complies with GB/Q235 standards, wall panels meet B1 fire rating requirements, and the overall structure is designed to withstand seismic level 8 and wind level 12. Certificates including ISO 9001, CE (for European market), and SGS inspection reports can be provided upon request.

Q3: What quality standards does the product meet?

A3: Steel frame follows ISO structural‑steel specification; rock‑wool panel meets non‑combustible class‑A fire‑resistance requirement.

Q4: What is the difference between expandable container house and ordinary flat‑pack container house?

A4: Expandable type expands side‑walls to gain larger living area while keeping small folded transport size. Flat‑pack container house needs on‑site panel assembling and cannot achieve such large expanded floor area within one folded unit.
