Shanghai Metal Corporation is a leading ERW Pipe manufacturer and supplier.
ERW Pipe, also known as electric resistance welded pipe, is carbon‑steel straight‑seam tube manufactured by high‑frequency resistance welding of hot‑rolled steel strip without adding filler metal during welding. This production method delivers consistent outer‑diameter and wall‑thickness tolerance compared with many alternative welded pipe products. It is widely used to convey low‑to‑medium‑pressure water, city gas and other non‑corrosive fluids; it also works as structural members for scaffolding, building frames, ground pipe piles and site fencing. It solves the demand for large‑volume steel tubes with controlled dimensional deviation for both fluid transmission and static structural support projects, reducing on‑site fitting difficulties caused by uneven pipe dimensions. Different steel grades and surface treatments adapt the pipe to underground burial, open‑air exposure and indoor structural installation scenarios.

4. Customizable Production Length
Available lengths: 0.5–20m, in addition to standard 6m/12m. Custom cutting reduces material waste for projects with special layouts.
5. Cost-effective for Bulk Orders
Continuous coil production delivers high output. Where seamless pipe pressure grades are unnecessary, ERW pipes satisfy engineering needs with lower material costs.
3. Foundation Pipe Pile for Civil Engineering
Applied as load‑bearing pipe piles for building and highway sub‑base. Good circumferential rigidity bears vertical ground load; select Q345B large‑diameter thick‑wall ERW pipe, beveled pipe ends for on‑site pile splicing.
4. Industrial General‑purpose Structural Components
For mechanical support frames, conveyor roller base tubes. Custom‑cut lengths reduce secondary machining; choose plain‑end black ERW pipe per project dimension requirements.

Standard Packaging:
Each pipe end is fitted with plastic end caps to prevent inner‑wall scratch and foreign‑object entry. Pipes are bundled with steel strapping at fixed intervals. Bundled pipes are wrapped with waterproof PE plastic sheet to block moisture during sea transit. Bundles are placed onto fumigated wooden pallets. Metal tags marked with grade, dimension, batch number are fixed on every bundle for product traceability.
Shipping:
We support FCL and LCL sea freight. Available trade terms include EXW, FOB, CIF. Other terms may be available upon request. Shipping costs are calculated based on cargo volume, gross weight, destination and selected transportation method.
Lead Time:
Standard orders: 15‑25 working days
Customized orders(special coating / non‑standard length): 25‑40 working days

Q1: What information do you need for a custom quotation for ERW Pipe?
A: Please provide outer diameter, wall thickness, single‑piece length, steel grade, end‑treatment type (plain / beveled), surface finish, order tonnage and destination port.
Q2: What is sample preparation lead time?
A: Small cut‑to‑length samples take 3‑7 working days. Full‑size production samples follow customized‑order lead time of 25‑40 working days.
Q3: What test reports can you provide for ERW Pipe?
A: We can supply reports for chemical composition analysis, mechanical tensile‑yield‑elongation test, hydrostatic test, flattening test, and ultrasonic weld‑seam inspection according to order‑specified standards.
Q4: What is the difference between heat‑treated and non‑heat‑treated ERW Pipe?
A: Heat‑treated ERW eliminates welding residual stress, suited for pressure‑fluid transmission following API 5L / GB/T9711. Non‑heat‑treated ERW is for structural usage like scaffolding and fencing, not for high‑pressure fluid service.
Q5: How do I choose between ERW pipe and seamless carbon‑steel pipe?
A: Select ERW pipe for low‑to‑medium‑pressure fluid and static‑structure projects within ERW standard pressure limits for better cost performance. Pick seamless pipe when working pressure exceeds ERW standard allowable value.
Q6: Which surface treatment should I select for underground buried ERW pipe?
A: For underground burial, 3‑layer PE or fusion‑bond epoxy anti‑corrosion coating is preferred. Galvanized finish is not recommended for long‑term soil burial service.
